Vote for Venus Raj Miss Universe
OK, this is completely random. And I know next to nothing about beauty pageants (my expertise on pageants ranks right up there with my expertise on hair care).
But I thought I'd show a little love to the Philippines and Venus Raj. Here's something you can do to show support for her:
1. Go the the Miss Universe Website and register.
2. Activate your account.
3. Click Contestants and choose Philippines.
4. Rate by clicking five stars.
That's it.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program . . .
I wonder how much these votes count towards a contestant winning a contest. Do these votes just let the contestant win the "most votes received from the internet" subcontest, or the whole pageant itself?
I am not against supporting a Filipina, but I would think it unfair if people vote for her because of her nationality. I think that if this is a beauty or talent contest, then the contestants should be judged based on their beauty or talent - not because they are Filipina, or Mestizo, or European, or whatever.
Just my opinion, perhaps.
I doubt the internet vote carries any real weight in the contest results. But since they are having an internet vote people might as well participate.
